Hot and Cold Summer...

It's that time of year again, towards the end of summer, when hot days are followed by cool nights. You’ll want to finally leave those shorts in the drawer and pull out your denim instead to keep you warm at night, but it’s still so hot by day that you’ll reach for casual tanks to keep you fashionably cool in the sun.

We found some fun and fresh looks to inspire your style and help keep the spirit of summer alive through its final days..

August Getaway - Travel Tuesday

It’s hard to believe we are heading into the last days of summer. While plugging away at work, I’m often nostalgic for my international travels of years past, especially if I am taking a mini-break and gazing at art or photos I’ve collected from my journey.

As NYC cools down, a trip to a small town in Mexico called Tulum seems like it could be the perfect final getaway of the summer.  It’s one of my favorite travel destinations. I’d visited (solo) during business school as a project to better understand tourism and technology.

Just a 90-mile drive from Cancun, Tulum is a small city distinguished by its pristine beaches and local charm. For any traveler in search of a delicate balance of rustic ‘True Mexico’  with a little international flair, Tulum brings both elements into harmony. One of my favorite aspects of Tulum is that the entire city is solar powered and has several eco-friendly boutiques all across its shoreline.  Although the town is no longer a hidden treasure with limited tourists, the combination of beauty and conscious living embodies the Eva & Paul spirit. Tulum has become my second home.

Tulum city and ruins are all nearby, so you can balance a bit of culture with beach lounging. I split the days between tanning and hopping around the surrounding ruins.

What to Eat!

Fish tacos became my comfort food during my travel. Langoustines came at a fast second as a fresh cross between shrimp and lobster - absolutely delicious.  And for all you Americanos, they’re not spicy at all - unless you add salsa!

All Tied Up....

Stylish denim ties are difficult to find. Hence, we thought our limited edition Oliver Denim Skinny Tie would be the perfect gift for our Kickstarter campaign supporters.

Denim ties intrigued us because of their comfort and functionality. Our sleek design can easily be styled to suit any occasion. They make the perfect accent piece - representing character and charm.  Such a simple but surprising fashion piece can really make the difference!

Make it Casual

A denim tie can give a modern flair to traditional casual style without going overboard. Pair your denim tie with a casual blazer, collared shirt, other denim pieces and loafers. Or, go for a light look for the summer with clean lines and a touch of color.

Working it @ Work!

Our male colleagues often complain that they have limited options for style during the work week. However, you can successfully incorporate denim without breaking any rules! Pair your denim tie with a classic camel colored suit vest, chino pants and white quarter-sleeved shirt. Or, give a boost to your trim detailed blazer.

Denim Nights...

Blazers with sneakers as the ‘go-to’ night out wardrobe plan is outdated. It’s time for a make-over. Go sophisticated and pair your denim tie with a pastel colored dress shirt under a charcoal gray blazer. Or, go for a light look paired with slim fit trousers and creative oxfords.

Fleeing to the Flea Market

When I am not living, breathing and brainstorming about organic denim, I like to bask in some sunshine and enjoy an outdoor festival or two. Since we are creeping into the last days of summer, a quick getaway from Greenpoint seemed like a good idea. This weekend, I headed to Flea in LIC with my good friend Becca. It was a perfect dose of empanadas, vintage jewelry and inspiring Manhattan views from Long Island City to cure the stress of the week and pass a lazy Sunday. We then skipped to PS1 to enjoy Warm Up, outdoor music alongside an outdoor art exhibit and get a taste of Brooklyn’s latest fashion trends.

Hiring: Denim Production & Technical Design Manager

Hi folks, we’re hiring our second position, Manager of Denim Production & Technical Design.  Contact Jobs@evaandpaul.com

Manager, Denim Production & Technical Design

WHO WE ARE:

Eva & Paul is an organic women’s denim company revolutionizing the denim industry through an innovative approach to sizing and sourcing to make truly flattering premium jeans. Unlike most brands that make proportions for size 0 and use these proportions for all other sizes, E&P makes jeans for the actual shapes of women at each size. We use proportions based on 3D body scanning data.

E&P is a mission-driven, travel-inspired brand - using artisanal hand-printed pocket fabrics and organic cotton from family farms in India, building a premium lifestyle brand around international exploration, natural beauty, and women supporting one another.
