Denim's almost done! - Behind the Scenes Wednesday

Founder Julia Kastner visited our factory in the garment district, and, to her delight, discovered that our jeans are almost finished in production and are looking spectacular! Pockets have been cut, logos embroidered, and most of the stitching is complete. Next the jeans need to go to the wash house to be laundered, and finishing touches, like our custom buttons, need to be added. We'll hopefully start shipping jeans by the end of next week! Stay tuned!

Can a denim brand be Lean? Our Latest thoughts featured on Women 2.0

How we’re using technology, a Kickstarter campaign, and a social mission to give women everywhere jeans that fit well.

Our "Innovative" Approach to Fit

Our Kickstarter is right around, and many of our friends are asking, “What do you mean by an innovative approach to jeans fit?”

Our approach started by recognizing that not all women are shaped the same - an extraordinary realization we know. Fortunately, we weren’t the only ones who thought it was ridiculous that most jeans and clothes in general are made for one shape - a “fit model”. A “fit model” can be anywhere from a size 0 to a size 8 - but let’s face it, in premium jeans, she’s usually a size 0. This means that all jeans made by a brand with a size 0 fit model actually is pretty straight in shape.

We quickly took this photo of our small & medium to show how our jeans are made for different shapes for different sizes. You can see that they’re different shapes - the smaller is straighter and the medium is wider around the hips.
