Founder Julia Kastner visited our factory in the garment district, and, to her delight, discovered that our jeans are almost finished in production and are looking spectacular! Pockets have been cut, logos embroidered, and most of the stitching is complete. Next the jeans need to go to the wash house to be laundered, and finishing touches, like our custom buttons, need to be added. We'll hopefully start shipping jeans by the end of next week! Stay tuned!
Denim Decisions...
Picking jeans colors for future product line. I went to Seventh Avenue Stationers in the garment district to look at fabric swatches. I had to choose from one of three “blacks”. I picked the one on the left - what do you think?
Eva & Paul’s new back pockets and logo
After a few weeks of waiting, we received the samples of our jeans’ back pocket logo embroidery today. Our subtle but modern Eva & Paul logo complements the darker and lighter shades of these denim back pockets. We can’t wait to see our new back pocket logo on a sample of our jeans.
We’re almost there! Stay tuned for more developments as we finalize our jeans for April.
Behind the Scenes: Jeans Fitting in the Garment District
Last week, we received our most recent samples for our denim collection. We worked with our designer Christine; our sample-maker Pauline; and our fit model Stefanie to see how our jeans actually fit. For the first time we saw our beautiful patterns in our jeans’ pockets.
The jeans’ dark blue wash and double gold buttons are chic, cool and quite timeless - the essence of Eva & Paul. We’re using bronze buttons for the time-being, but can’t wait until our own custom bottons come in.
Here we were reviewing designs while Stefanie had her photos taken in front of the white wall (for clarity). As Stefanie tried on four pairs of jeans, we noticed necessary changes that needed to be made. It’s absolutely vital that our jeans be both stylish and well-fitting.
Christine quickly pointed out that one of the jeans needed adjustment in the waistband while another sample appeared more attractive in one shade than another. After prioritizing the next batch of samples, we started to brainstorm a few special looks for a future Spring campaign!
We’ve also decided to add a signature logo onto the back pockets.
We decided that this logo looked better than the letters E&P because it’s simple, subtle, and sophisticated.
We’re excited that our jeans samples are coming along smoothly! In a matter of weeks, the revisions to our jeans and the new back pocket logo should be completed. Soon enough ladies will be able to buy a pair of our Eva & Paul jeans - Skinny, Bootcut, and Trouser! Although it has taken hard work and numerous hours of development, we are sure these jeans will rock both comfort and chic!
Stay tuned for more updates!
This week also included an exciting step forward with regards to trims: buttons, tags, and labels. We met with a trim supplier in the garment district and got to see some examples of projects they’ve done in the past using recycled and sustainable materials! We’re hoping to place our order next week!
